oh, george, with your shifted daylight savings time (DST), a pox upon your whitehouse!
in an effort to save energy, US congress passed a statute in 2005 mandating US to spring forward 3 weeks earlier than normal, and to fall back a week later than normal, commencing 2007. in an effort to sync with our neighbours to the south, canada is also observing an extended DST.
there is some debate as to whether this change will indeed save energy, but it is clearly causing me much expended energy…
first a maladjusted outlook calendar at work, throwing my work schedule into disarray, and requiring more patches than a patchwork quilt. now a missed corner gas episode, thanks to an auto-update that didn’t auto-update, wreaking havoc on the PVR, and recording not the corner gas finale gopher it, but half of law and order instead. sigh!
funnily, saskatchewan, home of corner gas, does not observe DST, and therefore Dog River was not impacted by such trifle annoyances!
